A Dark Night
by Koby Asante
One weekend I went camping with my friends and of
course the camp leader. The camp leader counted all of us to make sure everyone
is here. I felt really excited, my first time going camping. We were going to a
magnificent place with tall trees where we will be camping.
When we went on the big bus, the camp leader again
counted us to make sure if anyone was behind. It took almost 2 hours to get
there. When we got out of the bus the trees were so tall that I can’t reach
them.
We went to our camping base where we were going to
sleep for the night. The camp leader said we should look for wood to light up
the fire and she said don’t go too far from the camp.
That night we sang some songs, we read scary stories
and lit the fire. The next day everyone was gone. My friends were gone
including the camp. I felt very scared and surprised. I went to search for
everyone but they weren’t there. Maybe they went far.
Suddenly I saw a dangerous grass snake who bit everywhere.
Then I managed to escape. Then next was the big vicious bear. I ran as fast as
the wind. The bear also followed me but I went to hide behind the rock. The
bear couldn’t find me so it ran away.
Back at the camp the leader realised I was gone so she
called the police. The policeman came and said we are going to call the
reinforcement because the forest is huge.
After a while one of the policemen saw me walking hurt
and so tired. The leader said “thanks God you’re safe.” Then the ambulance came
to take me to the hospital. I felt really happy to be safe.
