MATHS TRAIL FRIDAY

We have been studying shapes, lines and angles.

Then we went into the garden to look around.

We used plumb lines to check and see if lines are vertical or diagional.

We saw vertical and horizontal lines, circles, triangles and right angles.

Now here is a challenge for you!

How many rectangles do you see in the two windows?

Look carefully and count them all!

Reading Buddies

Every Thursday the children from Ms Bates' class join us for reading.

We met our buddies for the first time this week.

 We read for the little children and
 they read for us.

We all enjoyed reading.

Tree Day 6/10/11

Thursday was Tree day

 We went out into the gardens and studied the trees. We looked at the colours and shape of the leaves.

 We did some bark rubbings.

We studied the shapes of the trees.

Welcome Back

The children in Room 4 are back in school working very hard.
They all look great in their uniforms. .

We have been trying different fruit and vegetables from the garden.

Of course we are delighted Dublin won the Sam Maguire Cup. Up The Dubs!!

Musical Instruments

We made our own musical instruments and then decorated them.

Then we played our instruments as we sang songs.

Out in the garden

We planted sunflower seeds and put them in the poly tunnel. We watered them and watched them grow. Then we brought them home to plant in our own gardens. I hope they grow really tall.

We planted out some vegetables with Mary.

We examined the birds' nests in the polytunnel.

We also looked at the rocks in the polytunnel.

Lots of Action

We went on our class trip to Fun Galaxy on Tuesday 14 June with Ms Archer's class. We had great fun on all the activities.

Then on Thursday 16 June we had our Sports day. We played different games and tried lots of activities.
We are very fit.
